Over the past years the bicycle manufacturing companies have dealt more and more with human factors and ergonomics. In particular the physical interface between the saddle and the cyclists proves to be a promising modulator in this discussion. The key point to successfully develop an ergonomic saddle seems to be the consideration of individualized aspects as well as the claims of the market for feasibility. Individualized factors considered to be useful are e.g. sex, cycling time and the seat bone distance.
For the development of a new bicycle saddle line various measurements are conducted by the Center for Health through sport and movement. The new line should result in a product that offers a high quality for every user and their individual differences.
