Abstract
In Beach Handball, the numerical superiority of the attacking team poses the question of how the optimal defence tactics might look like. Our analysis of 40 Beach Handball world championship games (20 female) revealed that for males attempting to block an provoking throws near the sidelines or bounces are the most efficient tactical defence behaviours to prevent the opponent from promising scoring opportunities.
