Abstract
The central aspect in the broad spectrum of leadership definitions is that leadership is about “influencing individuals and groups to achieve common goals” (Northouse, 2010, p. 3). By its very nature, leadership is applicable across a wide range of domains and contexts. Therefore, leadership is also a fundamental aspect of sports performance, particularly within team sport environments.
