Research interests of Dr. Isabel Stolz lie in the area of diagnostics and assessment in sport and exercise science, including technology analysis and movement interventions. She is interested in motor development in children and youth sports as well as adult populations and the development of athletic and performance-related abilities. Past research projects included the development and validation of a digital assessment tool (app) in the field of movement therapy and metabolic load assessment via comprehensive performance diagnostics with elite para dressage athletes from the national youth squad. Her current project is a multicenter randomized controlled intervention study (RCT, Level of Evidence 1b) investigating neural correlates of balance performance in individuals with multiple sclerosis across seven study sites in Germany. In close collaboration with academic partner institutions, clinical centers, and the German Multiple Sclerosis Society, the project is conducted under the highest clinical and methodological standards. The study employs an advanced multimodal assessment setup, integrating force plate measurements, a dynamic neuro-orthopedic therapy device equipped with acceleration sensors, and simultaneous EEG recordings to capture cortical activity during static and dynamic balance tasks.
