Effects of kinesio taping on the muscle endurance of finger flexors in climbers

Project details

Research objective

Based on the results of the study, conclusions can be drawn about possible performance enhancing aspects of climbing using Kinesio Tape on the finger flexors. The results can illustrate the effectiveness of Kinesio Taping as a measure to improve climbing performance in lead climbing.

Research method

- Measurement of strength endurance using a grip strength meter
- Measurement of time to hang on a 3.5 cm wide ledge
- Determination of the metres and time that can be climbed on a toprope one degree below maximum performance until complete fatigue (falling off the route) ('route coils') using blood plaque measurements
