Improving cycling skills among primary school children in North Rhine-Westphalia

Practical training for teachers and associated online portal

The programme is aimed at primary school teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia who want to offer their pupils safe and varied cycling training. The main topics are road safety education and mobility training in schools, motor skills training for cycling, and teaching practical concepts.
The training courses and accompanying online platform offer teachers decision-making aids and arguments for cycling in school and extracurricular settings, multimedia teaching materials and a wealth of information on the legal framework, safety aspects and planning cycling tours. The content and materials are available for download free of charge on the online portal. The training courses are financed by the Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia Mobility Network for the Future). The aim is to transfer the project to other federal states.
