Abstract
In the spring of 2023, the surveys of the broad socio-economic monitoring project, supervised by the German Sport University Cologne and the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, were completed after one year. The aim was to repeat the investigations of the SÖM project 2014-2015 and earlier surveys by the University of Würzburg (2007) and to obtain a picture of the visiting behaviour of guests, their motivation and attitudes. The regional economic impact of the National Park was also analysed.
More than 1.38 million guests visited the Eifel National Park in 2022-2023, generating a gross turnover of 76 million euros. The final report provides information on these and many other socio-economic indicators for the Eifel National Park.
