Abstract
Summary: Patients with total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and therapists fear overloading of the operated limb due to higher loads in sports. We showed that 5-14 month after surgery in field knee kinematics during downhill hiking and knee surrounding muscle strength in TKA patients were different from healthy controls (CON). Further muscle strengthening is recommended prior to return to hiking.
