Influence of gravel-bike damping on muscular power output

Projekte: ProjektFinanziert durch Drittmittel

The purpose of the project is to understand if and how vibrations and a gravel bike damping system, influence the rider’s neuro-muscular performance. Research that has studied the effect of surface-induced vibrations on cycling performance suggests, vibration leads to higher respiratory demand and higher muscular activation. Bike damping was shown to reduce effectively vibrations transferred to the upper body. Previous studies focused on short-term performance, in the next step the effects of fatigue on muscular power output will be investigated during repeated bouts of vibration exposure.
