Research profile

Jan-Peter is a senior researcher at the Institute of Biomechanics and Orthopaedics and the German Research Centre of Elite Sport. He is skilled in sports biomechanics, human movement science and police science. His PhD thesis focused on force potential and functional adaptation of human toe flexor muscles to training, movement and equipment. Today he is working on the force-deformation properties of the human foot, the initial acceleration behaviour of athlete’s body in elite sport and the physical fitness requirements for the police service. As a lecturer, he teaches fundamental and specialized knowledge of biomechanics. Jan-Peter is author of numerous publications in international journals and conference proceedings. Citations and download statistics indicate a high visibility in the international scientific community. In 2022, he won the "Technologies for Healthy Movement" award of the German Sport University Cologne.
