The Attention Window

Project: University Funding Programs

Research Objective

Not only in sports, but also in many common situations like for example in road traffic, there is a need to perceive two objects or scenes simultaneously.
In the course of the research project it is examined whether the maximum size of a person’s visual focus of attention is subject to different influencing factors including age, athletic expertize, gaze behavior, and also processes affected by emotions as well as by the current motivation through the use of a new attention paradigm.
Possible interventions for future concepts of practice are discussed to improve the visual orientation of attention in the long term.
